A Tale of Direction...

Hi it's Trevor here again, to share our monthly tale. Yesterday, Brenda celebrated her 29th year with the clinic, where she is employed. That is quite an accomplishment, given the fact, that over 26 of those years, she has lived with rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

She also received a nice surprise yesterday. She was notified that she was the "May Remarks Recipient"... Let me explain what that means. Each month where she is employed, other co-workers have a chance to make remarks about something positive their fellow co-worker has done. There are 2 awards given, one who makes the remark and the other, being the recipient, which was Brenda.

In Brenda's case it was helping a couple who was lost. This is kind of comical, because Brenda herself does not have a good sense of direction. BOL She admits that herself. We even had a good laugh about this yesterday. BOL Yes, my golden heart was shaking with laughter. BOL

Anyway, Brenda offered to take them where they needed to go. Another co-worker heard all of this and that is why she was nominated. The couple thanked Brenda several times for helping them get to their destination, being the tunnel. The tunnel to the hospital is connected to the clinic, so it is really a great way to not have to go outside during the winter months or when it is raining. It's a little way to walk, so it is also good exercise for Brenda.

Once they got to the entrance of the tunnel, the couple knew where to go and thanked Brenda again and they went their separate ways.

Brenda has always wanted to help people. Showing someone how to get to their destination, may not seem like a big deal, but Brenda was practicing a philosophy that their clinic takes seriously and that is putting the patient first.

Brenda received a nice gift card in appreciation to a local grocery store. All because she took a little extra time to make someone's day.

You've heard the expression, "The world would be a better place, if we all had the heart of dogs." or something like that. BOL My golden heart was so proud of Brenda in receiving this recognition by another one of her co-workers.

There is also another quote I would like to leave with you. "We cannot do everything, but we can all do something!"

~Trevor~
