A Tale of Self-Respect...

Hi it's Trevor aka T Man back after a short hiatus from our blog. We begin this new year by exploring a subject that we think is ignored far too often, self-respect. It's said that we are our own worst critic, when it comes to evaluating ourselves. If that is the case, then it could be hard to possess self-respect.

Brenda is going to be celebrating another year around the sun tomorrow and this has been on her mind for over a month now. Self-respect is actually telling ourselves that we care enough to do what is right for us, even if it may ruffle a few feathers. Honestly, I don't even know what that means, as well, I'm a dog and it doesn't make sense. BOL Anyway, the way she explains it is, that having self-respect means you sometimes have to go against the grain. Again, have no idea what that means, but from what I can glean from this is to do what you feel is best for you. Self-respect does not mean that you don't care about others, but that you don't just go around pleasing everyone, when you know in your heart what they want you to do is not in your best interest or could end up hurting someone else.

It's a complex issue. Brenda experienced some harsh experiences last year with being confronted by several individuals, who were not exactly kind with their delivery. One she has managed to resume civil encounters and the other is best to ignore.

Brenda knows who has her back and is there when things get tough. Sadly, she reached out to someone and they pretty well ghosted her. First time that has happened but it was heartbreaking for Brenda. Believe me, she will no longer bother that person, but it really stings, because when they needed something to promote their cause, she was good enough to be contacted. Brenda does not possess a lot of energy at times, so this took a lot out of her.

This year if she commits to any projects, she wants to be assured that they will actually come to fruition, as she simply does not have the time or energy to commit, if they only end up getting shelved. Remember, she works a full-time job, so when Friday evening comes, she is pretty beat.

Brenda loves to advocate and she will continue on that path, but on her terms and what she can handle. Our blog is a big part of that. We hope you find our blog posts educational and even inspirational. We try not to preach, as this is not church, but to encourage and hopefully, you come away having learned something of substance.

I enjoy being Brenda's storyteller and next month will be 11 years in that capacity. We have a new photo that we now will be sharing with you at the end of this blog. We would also like to share something that Brenda stumbled upon and would like to share with our readers.

We hope this finds you safe and warm, as many parts of the country are cold. I'm glad I have fur. BOL

This has been another T Man Production. Until next time, take care.

  1. T-man I thought your dog had stopped barking. Now I see you are back howling at my electronic door once again. It is incredible that you are barking up the electric tree once again. Well now howling buddy.

Hey tell my buddy Brenda to hit me up any time. Buddies don't let buddies feel alone. Not me at least.
